Conversion of Mosab Hassan Yousef

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Mosab Hassan Yousef was born on the West Bank into a devout Islamic family. His father, in prison today, is a leader of the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas. You can read about Yousef’s conversion to Christ online. He lives today in America.

His is a fascinating story. He was appalled by the torture done by Hamas leaders. It motivated him to read the Bible, verse by verse, to study Christianity, and to compare it with Islam. God opened his eyes. He embraced Christ as his Savior and was baptized in 2005.

His conversion compelled him to leave everything he had known — country, family, religion, culture, etc. He took a public stand for Jesus Christ and says today that he loves Christ and chooses to follow Him the rest of his life.

As you can imagine, this caused no small stir in Palestine. His family pleaded with him not to go public with his testimony of newfound faith in Christ. But he felt motivated to stand for the Lord, and he is glad to do so!

Are You An Effective Witness?

Friday, April 9th, 2010

Jesus said that we are to be witnesses for him to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). We should constantly be looking for opportunities to share our faith with people. Everyone we meet is going to spend eternity in one of two places — heaven or hell.

While we cannot always witness to everyone we meet, we should look for the opportunities. I do not know how to find opportunities without talking. So, a Christian should be friendly, always looking for that open door of opportunity.

If we will do that, God will use us. Think back to whom it was that had influence on you — before you came to Christ. Inevitably, there was someone who shared, or talked about, or related to you something about Christ. We should each try to do the same.

Resurrection

Monday, April 5th, 2010

What a great celebration of the resurrection we had on Easter Sunday! The crowd was outstanding, and a number of people came to Christ as Savior! And that is what Easter is all about.

The Bible teaches the bodily, physical resurrection of Christ from the tomb. The angel’s words are immortal, “He is not here! He is risen!” How true are the words of the song, “We serve a risen Savior!”

Peter tells us that the resurrection of Jesus Christ gives us the new birth, a living hope, eternal life, and salvation now and forever! (I Peter 1:3-5)

We never grow weary of celebrating the resurrection!
