Welcome, Jon Woods!

On Sunday, our church voted by 222 to 6 (a 97% vote!) to extend a call to Rev. Jonathan Woods to become our new Minister of Music & Seniors. Bro. Jon publicly and immediately accepted our call!

I am excited about Jon joining our ministry team!  I believe he is going to fit in well in our ministry. His last Sunday at his current church, Crestview Baptist Church in Lakeland, will be November 1. He will begin his ministry here at Delaney Street Baptist Church on Sunday, November 8.

We welcome Jon, his wife, Diane, and their three sons — Nikko, Colton, and Tucker — to Delaney Street!

Besides Crestview Baptist in Lakeland, Jon has served at First Baptist Church of Apopka, FL, and also at SBC churches in Illinois. He is 42. He has earned a B.A. in business at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and an MBA at the University of Tampa, FL. He is currently a Master of Music candidate at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

Minister of Music

Our church’s Music Minister Search Committee is ready to present a candidate to our Church body for a vote. The candidate will be announced this coming week. He will be with us the weekend of October 17-18.

I am very pleased with the work of the committee. I believe they have done a conscientious and careful job. I believe their selection will please our church.

Please continue to pray for our church as we look forward to making this selection. Our desire is simply to have the perfect will of God accomplished in this matter.
