What is RSS?

RSS Feeds are designed to make your life simpler.
It even stands for "Really Simple Syndication".

RSS is easy to use and it only exists as a convenience. Instead of having to visit dozens of sites one by one, RSS readers take information from the sites you pick and display all their information in one presentation, in an organized manner. It's basically a super newspaper where you pick the stories, and the information that powers them, RSS feeds, can be found on most sites today.

Some popular RSS readers are Google Reader and Bloglines for computers, and mDigger for mobile phones. All of these services are completely free, and only take seconds to set up. You can subscribe to Delaney Church's feeds in your RSS reader by clicking the appropriate "Quick Subscribe" button above. But to subscribe to feeds from other sites, look for a or symbol either next to the address bar up top or somewhere on the site. Then just copy & paste the link to the feed into your reader and you're done.

If you use a customized homepage like Netvibes, iGoogle or My Yahoo!, then, congratulations--you use RSS too. Just click on the service you use above. If you don't see it, again, most customized homepages have an "Add Stuff" or "Add Content" link; just copy & paste a box above into that and you're all set.

If you're still a little confused, watch Common Craft's video to the right.
